On Tax Day, April 18th, instead of complaining about taxes let's remember that taxes pay for the services we need and enjoy.
Do you appreciate safe neighborhoods?
How about public education, parks, and road maintenance?
Don't forget your local library and public transportation!
Well then join us on April 18th to #ThankTaxes - snap photos of how your tax dollars are working for you.
Print out a "Thank Taxes!" sign (or make your own!) and take your picture at a park, a local hospital, or your old high school (or better yet -- with your favorite high school teacher!)
Tweet your photos with the #ThankTaxes hashtag and encourage your followers to participate, too!
Too often we forget the connection between the taxes we pay and the services we rely on -- our roads and buses, breakthrough research at our colleges and universities, our parks, our police and firefighters, our teachers.
Let's make this year different.
